Seva programme

People tend to enjoy their stay at Skanda Vale more when they get involved in our seva programme. Seva means selfless service – it goes beyond volunteering, for it is performed as a heartfelt offering of love to the Divine. Seva is very much at the heart of ashram life, so we actively encourage everyone to take part and discover for themselves what it means to work in the consciousness of God.

Just come to reception straight after the Sri Ranganatha puja, and we will assign you a simple task – it may include vegetable chopping, flower arranging, cleaning, gardening, or moving the food offerings, depending on what needs to be done that day. The school holidays are our busiest times of the year, and that is when we need the most helpers.

If you have a special skill or area of expertise that you would like to offer, for example; carpentry, plumbing etc, please let us know on your accomodation application form, and we will try and find a special assignment for you.
