Staying longer

Pilgrims are very welcome to stay with us for extended periods. If you want to stay longer than one night, we ask that you do four hours work in the ashram each day and remain in the temple grounds at all times. Because we are a working monastery, we have to politely request that single ladies come accompanied by a female friend or relative. If this is not possible, then please add a note at the end of the application form in the ‘anything else we should know’ section, and we’ll get in touch.

Skanda Vale supports family life, so we don’t allow pilgrims to stay here at the expense of neglecting their responsibilities at home. Staying longer applications are processed on Monday evenings by the Swami’s Council – it may therefore take up to a week before you get booking confirmation. Sorry, but due to the limitations of our accommodation facilities, we are unable to book groups of more than six.
