BRAND NEW ROUTE FOR 2012!
Join us for our annual sponsored walk along the Pembrokeshire Coastal Footpath, to help raise funds for our new Hospice patient in-care unit.
After ten successful years on the south coast, we thought it might be nice to change the route and explore some of the rugged wilderness of the west coast of Wales. As before, there will be three routes of different lengths to suit varying levels of fitness. The first walk is along a five kilometre meandering woodland trail. There are no steep hills, no long distances and no nasty surprises; just exquisitely beautiful ancient bluebell woodlands.
For more seasoned walkers we have an additional section along the coastal path, bringing it up to a respectable eleven kilometre round trip. And, then if you’re up for a serious challenge, you can hike up the (smallish) mountain of Carningli, making the total hike a more challenging seventeen kilometres. From the summit you’ll catch a truly breathtaking 360º panorama. Check out the pictures.
Finally, no hospice walk would be complete without a truly lavish buffet banquet at the finishing line, and who knows, we may even have some entertainment or live music! (TBC). Every single penny you raise will go toward the development of our new in-care unit, so you can be sure that you’re walking for a genuine, worthwhile cause.
