Youth Retreat: 8th to 13th July 2024

A chance to get fully immersed in four days of bhakti yoga, karma yoga and satsang at Skanda Vale during the Lord Shiva Festival.

Get re-energised and focussed at Skanda Vale in Llanpumsaint, Carmarthen, UK. Immerse yourself in four days of bhakti yoga, karma yoga and satsang. Open to young people aged 18 to 30, it’s a chance to embrace the transformative power of authentic spiritual practices, learn and ask questions in a friendly, peaceful setting.

The retreat takes place during our annual Lord Shiva Festival, featuring daily mahabishekams in the Lord Subramanium Temple, culminating on Saturday 13th July with our annual Kali Procession.

  • Arrive at Skanda Vale for a welcome at 8pm on Monday, 8th July 2024.
  • Depart at 9pm on Saturday 13th July 2024.
Daily program:
This daily program gives an outline of what to expect, actual activities may differ slightly, depending on group dynamics and weather etc.
  • 05:00 – 06:00  Lord Murugan Puja
  • 06:30 – 07:30  Maha Shakti Puja (optional)
  • 08:00 – 08:30  Breakfast
  • 10:00 – 13:00  Satsang (spiritual talks / question and answer)
  • 13:30 – 14:00  Lord Murugan Puja
  • 14:00 – 14:30  Lunch
  • 15:00 – 17:30  Karma Yoga / Seva
  • 18:00 – 19:00  Maha Shakti Puja (optional)
  • 19:30 – 20:30  Supper / sports / games
  • 21:00 – 21:30  Lord Murugan Puja
  • Free accommodation is available in Skanda Vale for the duration of the retreat.
  • Accommodation is in high demand, so you may need to share a room with other devotees of the same gender.
  • Blessed vegetarian food, or prasadam, is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner each day.
Please note:
  • If you’d like to come, you must be sure you can attend the full retreat because it disrupts the group dynamic if people arrive late or leave early.
  • Parents remain responsible for their children. We have activities available for young people but we can’t offer a childcare service.
